Hiking with the Pack Vest
Julie
It is Fall and up here in the mountains of Maine that means foliage and hunting. Number one rule this time of year is that you have to wear orange if you are going out, whether you are a dog or a person.
Max and I decided to take a break from work and go for a hike on Ira Mtn to get some exercise and check out the beautiful colors. Today, I had him wear the Pack Vest because there isn't any water sources on this hike.
This vest serves many purposes. Since this is an overlook, there is some traffic going up and the orange alerts them to Max's presence. The vest also allows Max to carry our water and he hardly even noticed the extra weight. One tip is to make sure the weight is balanced on both sides so that the vest doesn't hang over to the side.
We had a great walk today; him because he could go off leash and sniff everything out, me because of the lack of worry that a car was going to hit him with the added bonus of not having to carry my water. Gotta love a product that serves a purpose as well as makes you happy.
Happy Autumn, everyone!
